In what can sometimes be an uncertain world, there’s nothing quite like hosting an international sporting event to bring people together. Whether we are participating or supporting, sport has an amazing way of uniting us all with a common purpose. Sport forges relationships across cultures, nations and our local communities.
The Games ‘Effect’
The undisputed success of the Commonwealth Games held earlier this year in Birmingham has left behind a long-term legacy that will stay with the city for years to come. It was the first major multi-sport event to be hosted with packed stadiums and arenas since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The Games saw more medals awarded to women than men for the first time in history, it was also the most sustainable Commonwealth Games to date.
As well as naturally boosting the economy of the Midlands, the Commonwealth Games has well and truly put our second city firmly on the map as an events destination. Centrally located, well connected and offering an impressive range of world-class venues and state-of-the-art facilities. It’s no surprise that more people than ever are considering Birmingham as the perfect choice for hosting large scale events.
For us here at CHS Events, the city of Birmingham undoubtedly ticks all of our ‘live event’ boxes. Our team have been busy planning our return to the ICC on November 1st for CHS Birmingham and this year it’s all about “The Growth Show: Personal and Professional”. As we all try and navigate our way to pre-pandemic business levels, CHS Birmingham will offer an education programme to support our personal and professional growth, as well as offering face-to-face appointments, networking at our welcome reception and after-show party and enjoying the buzz that is definitely still all around Brum!
We are so looking forward to welcoming event professionals through the door for what promises to be a fantastic day! Whilst we don’t expect to top the 1.5 million that bought tickets to the Commonwealth Games, we are so excited to be working with venues, suppliers and event buyers who will be travelling from all over the UK to join us in Birmingham for THE industry event of the autumn!
