2022 gave us many reasons to celebrate in Birmingham and the West Midlands. But one of our favourite reasons was that the Birmingham and West Midlands Convention Bureau celebrated its 40th anniversary! Quite a milestone for an industry that has had a tough time over the past few years.
As a destination, Birmingham and the West Midlands has undergone monumental changes during the past 40 years, morphing into a global destination with world-class culture, renowned food scene and incredible diversity and authenticity. However the thing that hasn’t changed over those 40 years is the passion and dedication of the team who have been behind the Bureau.
The Convention Bureau is on hand to help with all of the services you would expect – accommodation booking, venue finding, connections to event suppliers. But more than that, we’re here to help, always at the end of the phone for any of the less standard questions. Believe us when we say that we love being able to give our favourite restaurant recommendations or tell you where your delegates will have a fantastic incentive day out. It’s our pleasure to share our region with you.
And it has been an exciting four decades sharing our region and filling it with events of all shapes and sizes, from Eurovision and the G8 Summit in the 1900s, to the 100th Rotary International Convention in the noughties alongside a fair share of party political conferences. And in between all of that, the Bureau has supported nurses and farmers, teachers and vets, doctors and lawyers, software giants and fast food brands…just to name a few!
Each of those many events has contributed to making our destination such an incredible place to bring and hold events. And each of those events will have had slightly different requirements which is something we are more than happy to work with.
Our love for Birmingham and the West Midlands is a big driving force in how we work with organisers and suppliers. We want everyone else who comes to the region to love it as much as we do, so we do our very best to give the best experiences and provide the best possible knowledge to make that happen. And the key to that for us…connection and collaboration. We are here to connect people and work together to create experiences, bringing new organisers and establishing new events in the region.
Here at the Birmingham and West Midlands Convention Bureau we work to bring people together through outstanding events. We’ve been here for 40 years and we now look forward to the next 40!
