Nunsmere Hall was initially built as a stately home around 1900 for Sir Aubrey Brocklebank, Chairman of The Brocklebank shipping line and his wife Lady Grace Brocklebank. The Naylor family, after building the success of Peckforton Castle, bought Nunsmere Hall in December 2015, creating the Boutique Hotel Group, and are continually striving to build Nunsmere Hall into another of the country’s top hotels. For many of these years, this charming country home hosted glittering parties and gracious living for the elite of Edwardian society. Today, Nunsmere Hall is open for discerning guests who want to enjoy the heritage and charm of a bygone era in one of the most stunning settings in Cheshire. The award-winning country house hotel is the ideal location to eat, sleep, love & play.
Positioned in an Island setting situated amongst a 60-acre lake, Nunsmere Hall Hotel prides itself on the 36 charming bedrooms, 4 luxurious function rooms, desirable lake-side marquee, award winning Crystal restaurant and entertaining outdoor activities centre. The tranquil gardens, individually designed bedrooms and over a hundred years of history, ensure that your stay with us will be perfect.

Peckforton castle
As you turn off the lane and pass the magnificent gate house, your journey is almost complete, but the meandering driveway takes you through the lush green forest and then suddenly through the trees appears a large, beautiful, fairy-tale castle. Originally the home of Lord Tollemache and built in the early 19th Century Peckforton Castle was the only medieval style castle which was lived in up until recent years. It now operates as a luxury hotel, offering 48 individual luxury bedrooms and five private function rooms, with a cosmopolitan brasserie and a fine dining restaurant. View the magnificent function rooms. Stay in one of the luxurious bedrooms. Enjoy walking the “sandstone trail” which passes through the surrounding 4,000 acres of forest, or go ‘off road’ with the Land Rover experience based at the castle.
